AJM Med-i-Caps Ltd, a start-up born out of academic research, aspires to develop technology making bowel cancer diagnosis simpler, less-invasive, and more affordable. The idea is that the patient swallows a capsule that detects a pre-injected florescent probe to analyse the intestinal tract and record possible cancerous lesions painlessly and accurately. The product is successfully going through its development and technology validation phase supported by grant funding from the Research and Innovation Foundation and the EU-NextGenerationEU.
